Floriana FC 2 vs 2 Gzira United FC.
Floriana and Gzira United share one point each after they drew against each other at the National Stadium.
Making his debut for Floriana was Marcelo Dias who signed for the Greens from Senglea during January’s transfer window.
Both sides adopted a cautious approach to the game, however, on the twentieth minute, Gzira threatened through Domoraud whose low shot hit the side netting. However, it was Floriana who took the lead on the thirty-first minute when off a cross from a free-kick from Diego Venancio the ball fell onto Stefano D’Agostino whose low volley gave Haber no chance to parry to give Floriana the lead. The Greens could have added another when Marcelo Dias headed wide following a cross by Kristian Keqi from the right.
Gzira could have notched the equalizer when Scerri’s drive ended over the bar.
The Maroons started well after the break and notched the equalizer when Criaco rounded Cini together with the Greens custodian Akpan to equalize for the Maroons, however, the Italian midfielder found himself on the scoresheet once again when upon receiving a cross with a volley from the left gave Akpan no chance to parry to give the Maroons the lead.
However, Floriana rescued a point four minutes from time thanks to Tiago Adan Fonseca who headed the ball home off a freekick by Diego Venancio.
