Floriana FC 0 vs 1 Birkirkara FC.
Floriana has succumbed their first defeat in this 2019/20 campaign to the expense of Birkirkara, after thirteen matches without defeat.
Birkirkara can be considered as lucky to come out of this match with the three points out of this match as Floriana hit the post at least three times in this match, in fact it was Floriana to create the first goal opportunity when Diego Venancio upon receiving from Brandon Paiber, the Brazilian’s drive hit the woodwork. A few minutes later it was Brandon Paiber whose low-show ended wide at goal.
The Stripes threatened Floriana when N’Tow received a pass from Kurt Zammit, who Ntow’s shot was parried away by Akpan.
After a goal-less first half, Coach Potenza brought on Jan Busuttil, who the speedy midfielder managed to dribble past a couple of Birkirkara players before passing onto Keqi whose in front of Hogg saw his chance parried away by Hogg. A few minutes later Keqi saw his shot ending wide upon receiving from Tiago Fonseca from the right.
Birkirkara notched what had to be the winner on the seventy-ninth minute when Federico Falcone upon receiving from Yankam saw his powerful drive ending behind Akpan, to the joy of Birkirkara clan.
To add more drama to this match, Floriana were unlucky once again when a Keqi’s header following a Venancio’s cross saw the Greens chance smashing against the crossbar. Hogg once again produced a good one-hand save on Jan Busuttil.
