Floriana win against Mosta.

Floriana FC  3 vs 1 Mosta FC.

On Saturday afternoon Floriana defeated Mosta at the Centenary Stadium.

With this win, Floriana extended their unbeaten run to nine matches, with this being the fifth consecutive win for the Greens.

Floriana started the match on a bright way and took the lead on the eleventh minute when Mosta’s Kassekar floored Venancio inside the area, from the spot Kristian Keqi made no mistake to open the score for the Greens.

The Greens added another few minutes later when off a Venancio free kick the ball was partially blocked by Vella with the loose ball intercepted by Paiber before slotting the ball home to increase the tally for Floriana. A few minutes later a header by Tiago Fonseca ended wide. Mosta appealed for a penalty when Weverton seemed to be fouled inside the area with the referee signalling that the Blues striker simulated the foul.

On the thirty-sixth minute, it was another header by Tiago Fonseca following a Venancio cross, with the ball ending a little wide. Venancio threatened again the Mosta custodian with the ball tipped away by Vella. Following the break,  Floriana continued to press their opponents when Arias saw his chance parried away, even Fonseca had a good chance parried away by Vella.

On the fifty-fourth the Greens added another goal, it was Paiber who had just received a through ball from Keqi who unleashed a powerful drive which left Mosta’s custodian stunned to score the third and his second of the match.

Paiber nearly did a hat-trick when his low shot scraped the post.

Mosta scored their consolation goal when Kotlov’s low drive gave the Greens custodian no chance to parry.
