Floriana defeat Sirens.

Floriana FC 4 vs 1 Sirens FC.

Floriana has moved four points clear in the BOV Premier League after turning defeat into victory defeating Sirens this afternoon at the Centenary Stadium.

Floriana started well when on the sixth minute a Diego Venancio fierce free-kick was parried away by Cassar. The Greens continued to press their opponents when Kristian Keqi received from Tiago Fonseca with Keqi’s chance ending wide.
Sirens started to operate on the counter, however, the Greens defense repelled the blues attacks, Paiber a few minutes later had his chance ending wide, with Tiago Adan Fonseca’s chance missed by a whisker. Sirens had a chance through Siraj Eddin, with the ball
parried away by Akpan.

A curling shot by Cheveresan was parried away by Akpan, Jurgen Pisani after being served by Kristian Keqi saw his effort saved by Cassar, the Sirens custodian. However a few minutes later, against all odds it was Sirens to take the lead, it was a miscommunication in the Greens defense when off a Romao cross it was Wellington who met the cross before the Greens custodian to give Sirens the lead.

After the break, Enzo Potenza introduced Jan Busuttil for Garcia, the Maltese Under-21 made an immediate impact on to the game when his chance was parried away by Cassar. Floriana drew level a few minutes later when off a Diego Venancio free-kick the ball ended behind Cassar. A few minutes later Floriana scored their second it was Tiago Adan Fonseca who received an inviting ball from Alex Cini, with Fonseca placing the ball behind Cassar with a beautiful attacking move.

Floriana continued to control their opponents and scored their third through Paiber whose fierce shot from outside the area gave Cassar no chance to parry. The Greens increased their tally to four when off a hand-ball inside the area with the referee pointing to the spot Kristian Keqi made no mistake to score the fourth for the Greens.
