Obituary – David Cluett.

Today marks the fourteenth anniversary since the shocking death of our goalkeeper, David Cluett.

Born on the sixth of August, 1965, Undoubtedly David is regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers of his era. Cluett started his career at Melita where his excellent performances caught the eye of Floriana. He made his debut with the Greens on the seventh of September, 1986 when Floriana defeated Rabat Ajax (3-2). David spent thirteen years with Floriana making two-hundred twenty-nine appearances, where he won all the honours that Maltese Football had to offer, namely the Premier League, two times the FA Trophy, Once the SuperCup, Four times the Super five Cup, and also once the Lowenbrau Cup.

Cluett holds also a National Record, that of seven-hundred thirty-six minutes without conceding a goal.

David made his National Team debut on the twenty-ninth March of 1987, when the National Team obtained a prestigious draw in Madeira against Portugal and played sixty-eight games.

We will always remember you, David, never forgotten
