Floriana FC 2 vs 0 Pieta Hotspurs FC.

Floriana moved to safer seas as they beat Pieta Hotspurs at the Centenary Stadium.

The Greens started well, and on the seventeenth minute off an Oyama cross, Tiago Galvao rose high above the Pieta defence with the Brazilian’s header ending in Vella’s hands.

On the thirty-second minute a shot by Paiber scraped past the post, few minutes later a low shot by Alex Cini ended wide.

The first half ended all square, however after the break Floriana continued to press their opponents, three minutes passed and Arias tried his luck with the ball being parried away by Vella.

Floriana took the lead on the sixty-three minute when Paiber’s diagonal shot from the right gave the Pieta custodian no chance to give Floriana a merited lead. The Greens scored their second on the seventy-second minute when a first-time volley by Emerson Marcelina from just inside the area which stunned the Pietà custodian.

The Greens maintained the pressure and Brandon Paiber went close with a cross shot from the right which was turned into a corner on seventy-six minutes.
