Narrow win for Hibernians.

Hibernians FC 1 vs 0 Floriana FC

A goal on the seventy first minute by Jurgen Degabriele gave Hibernians a win over Floriana at the Hibernians Stadium,

During a rather boring first half , both sides defended well , with Hibernians showing their hunger to regain the top spot following last week’s defeat against Valletta. Hibernians started well when Jurgen Degabriele saw his chance on the twenty-sixth minute parried away by Akpan.

The best chance came for the Paolites before the break when Jake Grech threatened the Greens defence but his chance was parried away by Akpan to end the first half all square.

Following the break, both sides had their share, with Hibernians enjoying most of the possession with the Greens controlling well their opponents.

On the sixty-sixth minute, Andrei Agius missed a good chance when he saw shot ending over the bar.

Rodojevic’s free-kick ended in Akpan’s hands,  however Hibernians scored the all important goal few minutes later, when Degabriele’s stunning volley stunned Floriana’s custodian to give Hibernians a rather late lead.

On the 82nd minute, Dunstan Vella of Hibernians went inside the penalty area and hit a shot that was neutralised by Akpan.
