Floriana FC 1 vs 1 Ħamrun Spartans FC.

Floriana and Ħamrun share one point each after the two sides came draw yesterday’s evening at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium.

The Greens had three players making their debut , namely new signings; Edward Herrera, Ulisses Arias, Gaston Cesani and Terence Vella who started for the first time after being sidelined throughout the first round.

Floriana started well, after few minutes a corner from Steve Pisani met Ignacio Varela with the latter saw his ball parried away by Bartolo.

Ħamrun responded on the twenty-fifth minute when Caetano Calil passed to Marco Criaco, with the Italian’s shot ending wide.

The Boys in Green took the lead, wen Arthur Oyama picked up a loose ball by Nayar, with the Brazilian cutting through the Spartans defence with his powerful drive giving Bartolo no chance to parry.

Before the break, Ħamrun hit the woodwork, when off a Caruana free-kick Darmanin proved dangerous.

Ħamrun attacked soon after the break, when Tulimieri dipped a shot-cross inside the area , with Akpan parrying away the danger.

Floriana defended and controlled their opponents well, on a swift counter attack Galvao found Daniel Agius, who the latter saw his chance ending wide following a good run down the right.

However, Ħamrun managed to draw level ten minutes from time when Tulimieri’s cross found Wilfried Domoraud who powered his header past Akpan.

Arthur Oyama was voted player of the match.
