Floriana FC 0 vs 1 Hibernians FC.
A late penalty late in the second half denies Floriana from gathering points in today’s match against Hibernians. For Floriana this was the third defeat of this season which leave them in the fourth place. Floriana lacked of Dylan Grima who was serving a one match suspension and Marcelina replacing Cabral as he was injured.
During the first half both sides exchanged passes in the half pitch with Floriana showing more attacking intent as they were denied on various occasions, on the twenty fifth minute Vella passed to Fontanella with the latter crossing in the middle with the ball intercepted by Hogg. As both sides were heading into a goal less first half Nayar crossed from the left with Lima clearing with difficulty, following a corner by Oyama, Enzo Ruiz rose above everyone else with the ball saved by Hogg.
After the break Hibernians shifted their gear onto attack, late in the second half with twenty minutes to go Hibernians introduced newcomer Giorgi Gorozia and this move gave the fruit for the Paolites. Following a corner from the right, Gorozia was judged to be fouled inside the area by goalkeeper Akpan, from the resulting penalty Jorginho unleahsed a powerful shot giving Akpan no chance to give Hibernians the lead late in the game. Floriana were unlucky not to notch the draw later as Jurgen Pisani saw his header cleared off the line by a Hibernians defender.
