Floriana beat Hamrun!

Hamrun Spartans 1 vs 2 Floriana F.C.

Coming from a draw against Valletta, Floriana as expected won this match but it was no easy task for Floriana.

Hamrun created the first chance at goal, when off a Luke Sciberras free kick , Leandro Motta Dos Santos headed towards goal with goalkeeper Matthew Grech parring away the danger.

Two minutes later Floriana responded with a Mario Fontanella shot with the latter seeing his shot being parried away by Cassar. Floriana took the lead on the fourteenth minute when off a corner , the Hamrun defence failed to clear with the ball falling onto Alex Cini’s feet with the latter shot behind Cassar to give Floriana the lead.

Just few minutes before half time Hamrun scored the draw it was Motta who after receiving from Nanapere, the Brazilian hit home from close range.

Floriana regained the lead on the sixty seventh minute when Jorge Mesqueu Neto fouled Amadou Samb inside the Hamrun box with the referee ordering a penalty, from the penalty spot Italian striker , Mario Fontanella made no mistake to score the second of the game and giving Floriana the lead.

Both teams shared possesion until the end with both teams ending with ten men as Steve Pisani was sent off for double yellow card for Floriana and Siraj Arab was sent off  moments later.
