Floriana FC 3 vs 1 Balzan
With a superb performance Floriana won against Balzan in a match which Balzan had to end with ten men as Alan Da Silva Souza was shown a straight red card for dangerous play.
Before the match kicked off a minute of silence was observed in honour of the Chapecoense plane crash, Floriana’s starting eleven also carried a banner to honor solidarity with the Brazilian team.
Floriana took the lead on the twenty ninth minute when off a Steve Pisani corner , Ignacio Varela headed the ball behind goalkeeper Janjusevic to give Floriana a deserved lead. Balzan were reduced to ten men as Alan Da Silva Souza was shown a straight red card by referee Farrugia Cann for hitting Camenzuli mid way through the first half.
Amadou Samb double the score five minutes into the second half, it was another corner by Steve Pisani in which he found Samb with the Senegalese rising above a Balzan defender to make it two-nil for Floriana.
Floriana scored the third goal when off a well executed free kick by Steve Pisani, Jurgen Pisani took a loose ball in the middle of Balzan’s defence to slot the ball behind Janjusevic.
Bojan Kaljevic reduced the gap for Balzan when off a Bojan Kaljevic shot , Enzo Ruiz deflected the ball in what it seemed an own goal.
